Anya's Breadth

  1. Sorry again, and glad I was wrong! Anyways, I think the most successful pieces in your portfolio are numbers 6 and 10 (if you start and the top and count down) I also really like the rendering in the portrait of your brother, the face looks super, and I think the drawing might be even better if you go back in and add darker values. I also like the composition in the first drawing. With the photographs of your images, you might want to try changing the levels, because the way they are now isn't doing justice to the real thing...but now that I think about it, I don't think Hevel has taught you guys color correction yet...so never mind. I really like the pears and I think your portfolio could use some more bright color (but of course I always think everything could use some bright color, so you might not want to go off of that). Oh, and I think you should have a piece that obviously demonstrates rules of the thirds.

  2. Eunice: Anya the way you did your pears is amazing! I love how you used a knife to add the texture and it really stands out. However the piece above the pears could most likely use some work. It looks somewhat out of proportion and maybe make it darker to bring out the light parts.

  3. I like that you have your own style and it shows through your work. I agree with Emily that you could use a little more color, and some of the pieces look washed out like #5. but i think that's from the photo, not the piece. I think your strongest pieces are the first one and the pear painting. Both of those have some kind of added interest with the techniques you used to make texture. I also love the fourth piece it is really beautiful!

  4. I think your last piece looks very well done. I like how it is mixed media and not all of it is colored. One piece I think is really bringing you down is your marker piece. Maybe its just my preference but I feel like it is a little boring. Your fifth piece could also use some work. It looks very light. You should make the person darker. Overall I think you deserve a 5

  5. I think you have a HUGE variety of works. I also think it's funny how you have the piece with the girl extending her neck and then the piece with the girl hiding her neck, they contrast! Your pears are definitely my favorite of your pieces: they looks like pears but it also looks like paint (well it is paint, but what I mean is that it looks like your fully embrace the paint and all of it's qualities).

  6. ANYA! I love where you're breadth is going so far! I really like the oil painting that you did for the pears, the texture works well with it! I also like the profile drawings that you made, they seem very realistic! 5! (:

  7. number 4 needs to go. Its not at the level that you can produce and #5 might need to go if you have time to replace. I didn't know that was your work on the wall.

#1 ....not sure. You have to time to replace...that last piece has set the bar higher than your other work.
