I cannot upload my commentary verbatim, because I wrote it directly onto the AP page. Thus unfortunately means that I no longer can access the page now that it has been submitted. But, the gist of the text went something like this:
I began my concentration with the intent to illustrate a children's book that I had begun to write. This project inspired a renewal of interest in the writing of the story, which then led to an interesting arrangement whereby I was simultaneously writing the book I was illustrating. Additionally, I was also learning the ins and outs of photoshop painting during the ordeal which meant that several forces guided the alteration of my style. As the tone and style of my story changed, the mood of my images changed as well. As my knowledge of photoshop and the use of various brushes changed, I learned which to use for cleaner results. You may notice a great difference between images one and twelve. That is because this body of work represents, not the cohesive set of illustrations I originally anticipated, but rather my own significant growth in both medium and storytelling ability.
